Meet The Greenists!

Approaching the two year anniversary of Allie’s Answers, I felt like it was time to shake things up.  Courtney joined the site, and it felt silly to keep calling it Allie’s Answers, so I started to think about a name change.  Then Courtney and I had a great conversation about turning the site into a group blog.  Most things are more fun with friends, right?  Wouldn’t it be interesting to follow regular people as they go green, and have them talk about their challenges and goals in the process?

But what would we call it?

Earlier in the year, I tweeted about a typo on a post title.  I’d typed greenist when I meant greenest.  I tweeted back and forth with one of my Twitter friends (and I wish I could figure out who it was!) that Greenist would make a good Twitter name.  And it stuck with me.  I kept thinking, that it doesn’t matter who’s the greenest, we should all be greenists.  A greenist, being someone who studies green, the way a scientist studies science.  And it fits.

Courtney and I have assembled a team of ordinary people who are willing to study green and become Greenists.  The Greenists face the same challenges as average people, because we are average people.  We’re not perfect, but we’re trying to do the best we can and we hope to inspire all of you to do the same.

The Greenists are:

•    Allie
•    Courtney
•    A Free Man
•    Mickey
•    Nancy Pearl Wannabe
•    The Modern Gal
•    Noelle
•    Stefanie
•    Dianne
•    Melissa
•    Rachel

I am so excited about where we’re headed, and I hope you’ll join us!

  9. Found the site, by way of The Modern Gal.

I’m also living as “Greenist” as I can! I love the site idea, and I will gladly guest post if you have a need for a new team member or post ideas. :) In the meantime, I look forward to your team’s contributions.
