Is your yoga mat looking beat? They last a long time, but when they’re all worn out, what can you do to keep your mat out of the garbage?

I use my old mat to keep my exercise machine from scuffing up the floor. Gaiam has a great list of ideas for giving your old yoga mat a new life like:

• Make a place mat for your dog or cat’s water bowl
• Use it as a beach blanket
• Glue pieces to the bottom of tiles to make hot pads
• Put it in the trunk of your car to keep groceries from sliding around
