Check Out the Library

Libraries are the ultimate reusing resource. Books, magazines, CD’s, DVD’s, videotapes, and newspapers are some of the items available for use at your public library. My local library also has framed artwork available for loan and a coupon swap box.
Check out your local library to see what they have available. The next time you’re about to purchase books, music, or movies, see if the library has it first. In addition to being green, using the local library is a great way to support your community and save money.

I rediscovered the library a few years ago. It’s not the same as when I was growing up. My old public library system had just about any movie you could want. You’d have to wait a while to see new releases, but I never had to join Netflix b/c I got all my movies for free. You could even check out magazines, so I never needed to buy subscriptions.
My public library now (I moved a few months ago) doesn’t have quite the same selection of movies, and you can’t check out magazines, but they will get you just about any book you could ever want, have a great selection of audiobooks, and you can check out local museum passes for free.
