The National Trust for Historic Preservation says “The greenest house is the house already built.”  Of course, most homes could use a little greening up. 

Whether you’re preserving Victorian-era gem, or trying to make your 1960′s ranch house a little less drafty, check out the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s tips to make your home a little easier on the environment.

There’s even a guide to help you make your old wooden windows more energy efficient, instead of resorting to replacing them with vinyl or aluminum frame windows.
