Canine Earth Organic Dog Shampoo

Wet dog

Stella and Argo play rough.  They roll around in the grass and slobber all over each other, and, in general, they stink.  But both of them have sensitive skin, and giving them a bath usually gives them a mean case of the itchies.  And, of course, I’m as concerned about the products I use on them as I am with the ones I use myself.  So when Christin from Green4YourSoul.com contacted me to see if I wanted test out an organic dog shampoo, I was really excited.

Canine Earth Lay Down Lavender Vanilla Conditioning Coat Cleanser is the best dog shampoo we’ve tried.  I have two clean dogs with soft, shiny coats.  They smell great and there hasn’t been any scratching!

I washed Argo first.  He has a long stock coat, and it’s very hard to work shampoo into his fur, so I usually end up using a lot, and then it takes forever to rinse out.  Canine Earth rinsed out very quickly.  I was amazed.  And it left his fur soft without residue.

Stella was elated when I gave her a bath.  She’s never been a fan of baths before.  She kept trying to rub up against Argo while he was covered with suds, so I think she really likes the way Canine Earth smells.  She has a short coat and was very easy to wash.  The instructions say to leave the shampoo on for three minutes to “to achieve full benefits.”  Stella didn’t mind the wait in the least.

My hands felt nice and soft when I was done washing Argo and Stella.  And I loved the scent too.  What I love even more is the ingredients.  I feel safe using Canine Earth on my dogs, and that means a lot to me.

Ingredients:  Certified Organic Whey, Certified Organic Sucrose Cocoate, Certified Organic Coconut Acids, Potassium Hydroxide, Certified Organic Vanilla Planifolia Fruit Flavor, Certified Organic Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Xanthan Gum.

I will certainly use this product again.  It is really nice to have non-stinky, itch-free dogs.  And, “a portion of the proceeds from Canine Earth sales goes to the establishment of grants and funds for veterinary and consumer education programs throughout the United States.”  Great product and a great cause.

  1. I’m also going to try this shampoo. I’ve been using a homemade oatmeal bath on my dogs who also have VERY sensitive skin. It’s helped, but I’d like to find something that stops the itching altogether.
