I was just reading about AA’s new checked-bag policy and wondered why they don’t instead just add that extra $15 to every ticket price and then give a rebate or a credit to every passenger that doesn’t check a bag. A carrot instead of a stick.
That said, considering that the cost of flying is tied directly to the weight of the aircraft, I fully support any efforts to reduce both.
I totally agree with you. I think people are really sick of getting whacked over the head with that stick. Plus, since you can’t take a lot of stuff on board with you anymore, the chances of not having to check a bag are pretty slim. Which is going to lead to people not taking their own shampoo, etc. and using those tiny bottles in the hotel, which is wasteful.
Of course, that’s the way I think. But I am all for incentives for travelers to lighten the load.
That smoothie sounds good. I can never make it through all of my strawberries in time.
I’ve been having this debate over hybrid v. fuel-efficient used non hybrid ever since I first heard that hybrids take a lot of energy to make. You just see so much that implies to drive green you need a hybrid. It’s a hard decision.
