method Flushable Bathroom Surface Cleaner Wipes

I like to use rags when I clean, because they can be washed and used over and over.  But when cleaning certain bathroom surfaces, sometimes you don’t want to reuse your cleaning cloth, you just want to toss it.

I’d been using a supposedly eco-friendly surface wipe for months.  They claimed to be biodegradable, but when I went to write about the wipes, I noticed there was an asterisk the size of a pinpoint next to biodegradable with a corresponding note saying that the wipes were biodegradable, but the cleaner wasn’t.  Can’t say I was too pleased about that.  And I certainly won’t be buying them again.

I noticed an asterisk next to the word biodegradable on the method Flushable Bathroom Surface Cleaner Wipes package too, but it corresponds to this statement:  “Biodegradability validated in independent tests using typical compost conditions.”   Much better.  They’re also flushable, which is just perfect for something you use to clean the toilet.

They have a light eucalyptus scent that just smells clean.  I love method scents because they’re fun and fresh and don’t have that heavy industrial air freshener kind of smell to them that lots of name brand cleaners have.

I tested the wipes out on the bathtub too, even though I usually use a spray and rags to clean that.  It’s amazing how such a gentle cleaner can be so tough on soap scum and hard water marks.  I’m really impressed.

The wipes are non-toxic and not tested on animals.  And you won’t need to rinse after cleaning with them.

  1. Sounds pretty good.

Now remind me again: Why does anyone use toxic chemicals in their house to begin with?

  2. I know! I don’t get it. Especially when there are so many non-toxic products that work as well or better.

  3. Method’s products are my favorites!! In the whole scheme of things I’d rather not have to shop at Target but:
    1. I love Target
    2. It’s much closer than many other options that would be eco-friendly

  4. And Target is also the most philanthropic corporation as a percentage of its profits, by a long shot.
