According to Diane MacEachern’s book, Big Green Purse, “Women spend eighty-five cents of every dollar in the marketplace.” This puts us in a great position to leverage our power as consumers and make a difference by shifting our purchases and voicing our concerns.Big Green Purse is an amazing guide to help you make changes in your purchasing habits and become an informed, green consumer. It’s easy to read and has a nice, conversational tone — like chatting with a well-informed friend — but doesn’t skimp on details. Diane MacEachern isn’t afraid to get technical but explains everything in accessible terms.Big Green Purse addresses everything from food to soap to chocolate to lawn care, giving eco-friendly options and ways to influence change in companies that could use a nudge in the right direction. In addition to being a great read, Big Green Purse is a great reference book and a good place to start researching eco-friendly lifestyle changes. I hate to give my copy away, but I do want to spread the wealth of knowledge around. So, just like I did with Green Chic, I’m going to pull a Tip of the Day from Big Green Purse every day this week.Sign in with a valid e-mail address to comment on the Big Green Purse Tip of the Day posts from Monday, April 21st through Friday, April 25th. For each comment, you’ll get an entry (one per day, please). The giveaway will close on Sunday, April 27th, at noon (Eastern), and I’ll draw a name out of a hat to determine the winner. The winner will be announced on Monday, April 28th. Comments that appear to be spam will not be counted. Good luck!

  8. Allie, you are an example in generosity to share the knowledge by giving up something you love and want to keep.

I’m in for trying to win it and then pass it on myself. :)
