Howling Hill Seed Swap
Posted on December 5, 2008 by

So, I spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to do a video post about Howling Hill’s Seed Swap. First the sound didn’t work. Then the sound worked, but my webcam stopped recording after 29 minutes. Then Argo put his big head in the shot, which would have been fine, but it turns out the sound stopped working again. Then I got something recorded only to realize that I have no idea how to turn this video into a file I can upload. You may get a video blog post from me some day, but today is not that day.
Howling Hill started a seed swap. I got a big envelope full of seeds in the mail from Surviving Massachusetts, and I’m sending it on to Talking Mute 12.
I’m taking:
- Black Turtle Dry Beans
- Long Island Brussel Sprouts
- Blue Hubbard Squash
- Gold King Carrots
And I’m putting in:
- Sage – Great in soups. Grows like a shrub.
- Lemon Cucumbers – I didn’t have luck growing these. I’m not good with starting seeds indoors.
- Mustard Greens – Great in salads or as a spinach-type side dish.
- Long Red Slim Peppers – Very spicy, good for drying.
- Double Pink Poppies – My neighbor gave me these, they look like something out of a Dr. Seuss book.
Thanks so much to Howling Hill for arranging this!

Yea, video blogging is way beyond my technical abilities but I laughed at your description of trying to do one. Wish I could’ve seen it =)
You’re welcome for arranging it. I love watching the seeds move around the country.
