Every Woman’s One Daily

Posted on March 5, 2009 by Allie

I took Fred and Barneys way past the point of age appropriateness.  It wasn’t some sad attempt to cling to the vestiges of my youth.  It wasn’t that I needed my vitamins to taste like candy.  It was that most vitamins make me horribly nauseous.  But you just can’t ask a kid’s vitamin to do the job of an adult one.

After years of trying different adult vitamins, only to be disappointed, I finally went to the natural food store, explained the whole nausea issue to the specialist in the vitamin section, and purchased my first bottle of New Chapter Organics Every Woman’s One Daily vitamins.  The tablets have a combination of probiotics that aid in the digestion of the whole-food nutrients.

Even on an empty stomach, I haven’t had an issue with nausea when taking these vitamins.  I’ve been taking them for almost a year now.  I used to have weak fingernails that would constantly bend and break.  Now my nails are strong and healthy, my hair grows fast, and while I used to catch every cold going around, I feel like my immune system is strong.  Maybe it’s not all because of my vitamins, but they certainly play a part.  And as an adult, they are far better for me than Dino and Wilma.  Wilmaaaaaa!

Obviously, you should consult your doctor before making any significant dietary changes.

  2. I’ve never had a problem with taking vitamins but often wonder if they’re doing anything for me.

I like that these vitamins have probiotics. I’ll definitely look for these (I’m assuming they’d be at Whole Foods?).

  4. CCK – We don’t have Whole Foods here, so I don’t know. But they are pretty easy to find online.

Kir – they are kind of horse-pillish.

  5. They make the best organic, whole food prenatal vitamins, too. Excellent company and product line!

  6. Yay! I LOVE New Chapter Organics vitamins. I love what’s in them and I love what they’re in. Because they come in a glass bottle rather than plastic. Yes, there’s the plastic cap, but these bottles are great to wash and reuse. I get the largest size available.

I’ve been taking the Every Women vitamins, not the One Daily. I have to take 3 a day. I wonder what the difference is.

Once my Dr. Weil calcium pills (in their big plastic bottle) are gone, I’m probably going to switch to New Chapter’s Cal-Mag Bone Health (http://www.newchapter.com/products/cal-mag-bone-health) which is ironic because I first learned about New Chapter on Dr. Weil’s web site.

  7. Killjoy here-

What about getting your vitamins from food? Isn’t that the more organic option? Pills don’t grow on trees.

  8. I got my pal a brand called Viactiv, which is touted as a woman specific supplement. It is a chocolate chew so its the adult version of Barney and Wilma. They also make calcium supplements in chocolate. They taste pretty good!

  9. This is great – I’ve been looking for a new vitamin since I don’t need to take my prenatals anymore. I’ll definitely check it out.

A simple way to keep your house warm is to seal the bottoms of doorways with a draft stopper. You can usually purchase them inexpensively, but making one is a fun, easy DIY project.
