A/V Fridays – Earth Rocks

Posted on April 17, 2009 by Allie

Okay, I have a confession.  I hate Elmo.  I just do.  He wasn’t even on Sesame Street when I was a kid and his screechy voice makes me want to wring his little furry neck.  But I do love me some Paul Rudd, and I think his awesomeness more than cancels out Elmo in this clip.  Enjoy.

  1. I’m so glad you said that. I don’t understand the appeal of that little annoying monster.

  2. I too despise the red beast, but I figure if the kids like him, wtf. I like the earth suit. Wish I had one.

  4. Rudd is pretty great. Wish I could watch it right now.

Elmo does tend to grate something fierce.

  5. It’s not every guy who can pull off a giant Earth suit. I loves me some Paul Rudd too.

  6. Oh, so that’s why I don’t remember Elmo! He was never there! LOL! Thanks for setting the record straight for me. My 2 year old granddaughter absolutely loves Elmo (probably because he’s red), but I couldn’t for the life of me remember him. Big Bird, Cookie Monster, Bert & Ernie, Oscar, but Elmo? LOL!

  7. I was always more of a Cookie Monster kind of girl myself. As well as a Paul Rudd kind of girl, obviously.

  8. Elmo, is SO obnoxious! That Paul Rudd though, he’s one of the good ones. Just finally sat down to watch Knocked Up the other day, and his character was hilarious. He’s great in everything he does. Thanks for the funny clip.

  9. Clearly, we’re in the minority, but we love Elmo in our house. I love Paul Rudd, so I bought this DVD for my 2 yr old. Sadly, it wasn’t a big hit with her. Maybe when she’s old enough to dig Paul Rudd, she’ll like it.
