Posted on July 25, 2008 by Allie

Baltimore Bliss posted a video about biofuel from Darryl Hannah’s DH Love Life website, and it got me into the DH Love Life series.  Go watch the biofuel video.  I’ll wait.

Then come back here and check out this DH Love Life video about hemp.

  2. Allie, I’m so sorry this comment is off-topic from your post, but I’m not sure whether you get notifications or still check for new comments on your previous entries.

Regarding making cat litter (http://thegreenists.com/tip-of-the-day/tip-of-the-day-make-your-own-kitty-litter/1044), I was wondering…in steps 2 and 4, I’m supposed to soak the newspaper, right? How long do I soak it for, in each step?

I’m excited to try as I’m tired of all the tracking messes and want something “natural”!

    Thanks!

  3. Hi Kathy!

    Thanks for your comment!

You don’t have to soak the newspaper long — in step two, what’s important is to make sure that all the paper is wet, and that the soap gets mixed through evenly. It will only take 3-5 minutes.

In step three, soak it 3-5 minutes again.

In step four, you don’t have to soak it, but mix the baking soda into the paper mixture until it’s evenly distributed.

    Hope this helps!

Make a Draft Stopper

A simple way to keep your house warm is to seal the bottoms of doorways with a draft stopper. You can usually purchase them inexpensively, but making one is a fun, easy DIY project.
